The transformation of the Lake Mary High School Media Center has been years in the making and is a testament to the dedication, perseverance, and passion of several remarkable individuals.

Over the past three years, Stephanie Beasley and Heather Vegliante, District Media Specialists, along with Latoya Simmons, LMHS Media Administrative Assistant, have worked tirelessly to refresh and revitalize our Media Center. Their commitment went far beyond a typical renovation project. Every book in the collection was carefully analyzed and inventoried to ensure it was current, free of bacteria, free of damaged or ripped pages, and appealing to today's students. This enormous undertaking required countless hours of work, including many days during the summer months, and truly became a labor of love.

Throughout the process, shelves were reorganized, with surplus shelving donated to another high school. Every remaining book was individually hand-cleaned before being thoughtfully returned to freshly cleaned shelves. Their attention to detail and unwavering commitment helped create a space that is not only functional but also warm, inviting, and student-centered.

The dedication these ladies demonstrated in ensuring that our Media Center became a welcoming environment for all is genuinely inspiring and worthy of recognition. With so much care invested in updating and improving our collection, it was only fitting that the facility itself receive a refresh as well.

A special thank you to the SCPS Facilities Department for providing new carpet and a fresh coat of paint. These enhancements have elevated the space and helped bring the vision to life. Today, the Lake Mary High School Media Center is well on its way to becoming the cozy, bookstore-inspired environment our students and staff deserve.
