| PURPOSES AND MISSIONS OF PTA: Click here |
| HISTORY: The largest child advocacy organization in the nation. For over 100 years, PTA has provided support, information and resources to families focused on the health and education of children. PTA is a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization. Some of the legislation PTA has helped to get accomplished is: the creation of kindergarten classes, child labor laws, a public health service, hot lunch program and a juvenile justice system. As a PTA member, you have a voice and a vote regarding state and national legislation for the education and well-being of all children. For more information, please visit these Web sites: Florida PTA at www.floridapta.org,National PTA at www.pta.org, and SCCPTA's www.sccpta.com. |
MISSION: Here at Lake Mary High, our primary concern as a local PTSA is to provide support to all our children, parents, faculty and community. Your $7.00 membership not only pays for programs and events at our school like Respectful Rams, Summer Reading, Reflections, LMHS PTSA Senior Scholarship, Mr. and Miss Lake Mary, Class Start-Up, Project Grad, American Education Week, and Teacher Appreciation, but half of your fees also goes toward state and national PTA dues. |
| GOALS: To continue with our current programs and events, and to implement new goals as well, such as "The Ram Modification Project." As many of you already know, Lake Mary High must replace everything that has the Dodge Ram logo on it. The goal this coming year will be to help raise funds to replace nine benches throughout the campus that has the "old ram" logo. This not only helps to beautify our campus, but it gives our children a place to rest and enjoy the outdoors. |
