Student Application

As we approach March, we are planning ahead for summer opportunities. This year, LMHS will NOT host a traditional summer school program. Lake Mary High students are able to take some courses for remediation only at Seminole High. The first semester is June 4 - 20 and the second is June 24 – July 11. The instructional day is from 7:20 a.m. until 1:18 p.m. Lake Mary will only house the Transition program (select middle school students coming to high school). The second term, we will host our second annual Academic Boot Camp – focusing on Algebra I, Geometry, and Biology end of course exams for those who need to retake the test.

Student applications are now available for summer school. Please encourage your child to see his/her guidance counselor to sign up if it appears he/she has a struggling grade and may need to remediate. Students must have earned a grade of "D" or "F" for both semesters in order to take a course in summer school for both sessions. If your child only needs to take one semester of a course, he/she must repeat the semester in which he/she earned a "D" or "F". For acceleration, now is the time to sign up for virtual (online) classes. Driver Education applications are also now available (guidance office). The sites available for Driver Education are Seminole High School, Oviedo High School, Lyman High School, and Lake Howell High School.

Students should sign up as early as possible since space will be limited due to funding. There are NO absences allowed for summer school, therefore, please plan your summer activities around the scheduled dates above if your child is planning on attending summer school. Students may also elect to take a course on-line through Florida Virtual School (FLVS.net) and you are encouraged to sign-up as soon as possible. The application deadline for summer courses is April 15. Students should indicate on their application with FLVS that their desired start date is May 19.
